You may use DearBill only if:

  • You are legally able to enter into a binding agreement;

  • You are not prohibited by law from using our Services;

  • If under 18, you have received permission from a parent or legal guardian.
     

By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements.

2. Services Description

DearBill provides a consumer-facing platform that allows you to upload medical bills, insurance documents, and other health-related financial files. Our system uses AI to help:

  • Identify billing errors or overcharges

  • Understand insurance denial reasons

  • Generate personalized appeal letters and dispute documents
     

DearBill is not a law firm, medical provider, or insurance agent. We do not offer medical, legal, or insurance advice. All materials and outputs provided are for informational purposes only and do not substitute for professional consultation or advocacy.

3. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the Services only for lawful, personal, and non-commercial purposes;

  • Provide only accurate, truthful, and lawful information;

  • Not upload documents that you don’t have the right to share (e.g., someone else’s private data without consent);

  • Not impersonate others, harass users, or interfere with the platform’s functionality;

  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account login credentials (if applicable);

  • Accept full responsibility for the content and documents you submit, including their accuracy and legality.
     

You acknowledge that any appeal letters or outputs generated are based solely on the data you provide and may not reflect the full scope of your insurance or legal rights.

4. Privacy & Data Protection

Your data privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for information on how we collect, store, and protect your personal information, including uploaded documents.
 

While we follow HIPAA-aligned best practices, including encryption and strict access controls, you agree not to upload unnecessary sensitive data (e.g., Social Security Numbers or unrelated medical records).

5. Intellectual Property

All content, technology, and design elements within the Services are the exclusive property of DearBill or its licensors. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, distribute, or create derivative works from our platform or content without written permission.
 

You retain ownership of any documents or data you upload. By submitting them, you grant DearBill a limited, non-exclusive license to use, process, and analyze them solely for the purpose of delivering the Services.

6. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or misuse the platform.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantees that:
 

  • Errors or discrepancies in bills will be found or resolved;

  • Appeal letters will result in successful claims;

  • The Services will be uninterrupted or error-free.
     

Use of the Services is at your own risk.​​

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DearBill shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of the Services — including loss of data, financial losses, or unsuccessful insurance appeals.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the state of Delaware, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located within the United States, unless otherwise required by local law.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the Services or email. Continued use of the Services after any change constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
